EMLR/ Conference Kibogora is the oldest conference of ten in Rwanda. Free Methodist church in Rwanda was started at Kibogora, on February 14, 1942 by Frank and Hazel Adamson. It is in Western Province, Nyamasheke district, Kanjongo sector, Kibogora cell at 1460m of altitude, near Kivu Lake.

Kugira ngo tumenye neza inkomoko y’aba Methodiste ni ngomba kubanza kuri John Wesley uwo abenshi bita “sekuruza w’Abamethodiste”. John Wesley ni mwene Samuel Wesley na Suzana Wesley. Yavukiye mu Bwongereza tariki ya 17 kamena 1703. Babyaye abana 19, muri bo hakura 13 barimo John Wesley na Charles Wesley. Suzana Wesley yakundaga Imana cyane abitoza n’abana be. Yari yarabamenyesheje gahunda yo gusoma ijambo ry’Imana no gusenga kandi amasaha yo kurya no kuryama ntahinduke; buri kintu kigakorerwa mu mwanya wacyo kandi muri gahunda inoze.
John na Charles Wesley na bagenzi babo bafatanyaga gusenga bari muri kaminuza ya Oxford, babyukaga kare mu gitondo bagasenga, bakongera gusenga nimugoroba barangije imirimo.
